Apple's next Operating System for their line of Macs, Mac OS X Lion (aka 10.7) will hit the Mac App Store within the next couple of hours as the United States gently rolls into July 20th.
The new operating system has been announced and previewed over several months. It'll bring several new features to the operating system such as the iOS-like LaunchPad application launcher, full-screen apps, plus Resume and Autosave.
With no plans for a separate retail in-box version, Mac OS X 10.7 will cost users US$29 when it hits the Mac App Store, the lowest price for any of their operating systems to date. Users will need the latest 10.6.8 OS version to perform the upgrade.
