Minecraft arrives on the App Store, PC/Mac version out of beta

After a bit of exclusivity with Android, Mojang's Minecraft is making its way to iDevices with Minecraft: Pocket Edition, if you ever have the munchies for mining on the go.

Minecraft: Pocket Edition is essentially the same open-build concept, but toned-down for mobile, limited to only Creative mode. The Universal game (ie, iPhones and iPads) retails for US$6.99 on the App Store.

Minecraft for Mac and PC are also "finished" and are coming out of beta today, just in time for the opening for MineCon set to go in Las Vegas over the weekend.

Video: You've got Zelda in my Mario

There's a particular level in Super Mario 3D Land worth a look at. Actually all of them are worth a look at, but this one is special. World 5-2 is a homage to Nintendo's own Legend of Zelda. The level takes the form of a typical dungeon from the action-adventure game. It even has a secret to it, as you will see in the video.

Dead Island's "Bloodbath Arena" DLC coming November 22

The first, slightly delayed DLC for Dead Island, Bloodbath Arena, is due to arrive on November 22 for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

The downloadable content adds four new arenas for single-players and co-op teams to survive wave after waves of the undead.

Bloodbath Arena is free for owners of the Dead Island Special Edition and will cost $10 for regular participants.
